The Cyclone™ mechanical siren by ASC is designed for community
warning, industrial warning,
nuclear disaster, petrochemical, military applications that require high levels of
consistent 360° sound coverage.
The Cyclone™ siren can be activated locally or from a central point using radio
or land line activation systems. An encoder located at a central control
point can be used to transmit activation commands via hardware or radio
frequency. RTU units can initiate siren activation, provide signal timing, and
with the Compulert™ SCADA program transmit siren status information to
document operational capabilities.
The Most Powerful Maintenance Free Omni-Directional Outdoor Warning
Siren.
The CYCLONE C-125-AC Siren provides sound coverage throughout 360° at all
times .
With siren warning signal coverage over 4 square miles one unit can cover more
consistently than 4-5 smaller sirens, reducing installation costs and
multi-point maintenance problems. The Cyclone siren requires No
Maintenance once installed.
Key Benefits
Omni-Directional 360 coverage. This stationary unit eliminates
mechanical parts which require maintenance to rotate. (No belts, chains,
bearings, or pulleys to worry about.
Has been installed in some of the worlds toughest environments and
performed perfectly since it's introduction in 1967.
- Saudi Arabia (200 Units)
- United Kingdom (30 Units)
- Three Mile Island Nuclear (79 Units)
- Oyster Creek Nuclear Station
- City of Richmond California 1996
- Many more throughout the last 34 years
All external horns and covers are cast aluminum or fiberglass. No
painting or eye sore problems over time.
Mounts on standard Class 1 wood utility poles our can be set up on more
attractive steel poles when aesthetics are important to your community.

System Design
The Cyclone™ C-125-AC™ Siren utilizes aluminum sound-producing
components which are covered in color-impregnated fiberglass to
eliminate rusting and painting maintenance. Sirens are mounted directly
over the center mounting poles so that guy wires are not required. The
C-125-AC" is the largest omni mechanical sound-producing sirens capable
of covering over 9.9 square miles. In comparison, the 125-128 dB at 100
ft.-rated sirens cover 2.2 to 3.1 square miles (a 4 to I ratio), making
the C-125-AC™ very cost effective for large area warning signals.
Activation
The C-125-AC'"can be activated by using landlines (hardwired relays) or
by radio controls. Various encoding formats allow for tone activation of
multiple siren signals. Two items are required: an encoder at a central
dispatch location, and a Universal Remote Terminal Unit (U-RTU) mounted
at the siren location. The U-RTU is interfaced with the MC-35-3 Siren
Motor Control. American Signal manufactures a complete line of radio
controlled systems.

American owned and operated
American Signal Corporation, originally known
as ACA or Alerting Communicators of America
has been designing and manufacturing warning
systems and providing clients with turn-key
installation services for almost 60 years. In
1982, we became the first company in the
industry to provide a wireless digital
supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
system called CompuLert™ with over 6000
installations world-wide. The advancements in
the siren designs include battery operation,
high powered Voice/Sirens, indoor alerting
systems and with the experience in the
wireless field, American Signal has the
expertise to meet virtually any warning system
project goal.
Our engineering and system specialists work
hand in hand with clients to assist in the
development of the project scope, so that we
understand and are able to meet the goals of
our clients. Our client base includes
municipal governments (Village, Town, City,
County and entire Countries), industrial
facilities, and military bases. When our
clients make the decision or commitment to
provide their constituents or employees with
emergency notification, whether natural
disaster or man made, American Signal can take
you from start to finish. We can coordinate
efforts from needs assessments, acoustical
surveys and technical proposals, to radio
system back-bone studies, installation and
service/maintenance contracts.
In our new production facilities we have the
ability to respond to customer lead time
requirements quicker and with more consistency
than our competition and we would welcome the
opportunity to respond to you.
