ASC to Assist Wisconsin Nonprofits Secure Grant Funds for Alerting Technology

 In News

Milwaukee, Wis., March 18, 2021 — ASC can help nonprofit organizations that face security risks apply for the federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program grant designed to thwart terrorist attacks.

The federal program is providing funds to “nonprofit organizations that may be at risk of a terrorist attack due to their ideology, beliefs, or mission,” according to Wisconsin Emergency Management, or WEM.

Nonprofit Security Grant Program funds can be used on security-related activities, including the acquisition and installation of security equipment. Funding for the grant has doubled from last year, with up to $2 million available, according to WEM.

ASC Aware can alert employees and visitors of a threat. ASC can help you acquire this technology through the federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program.

Milwaukee-based ASC provides solutions that alert employees and visitors to threats, instructing them to take cover or evacuate. Specifically, ASC Aware and ASC Sentinel technologies notify individuals on network-connected and mobile devices, respectively.

ASC AWARE alerts employees on a variety of network-connected devices, including desktop and laptop computers, digital signage, smart boards and more. Furthermore, ASC AWARE is fully customizable and offers simplicity for quick deployment and far-reaching impact that ensures they won’t go ignored or overlooked.

ASC Sentinel provides alerts on mobile devices, keeping individuals informed — further increasing the broad distributions of alert messaging. Above all, ASC technology can keep you safe.

American Signal Corp. can assist interested nonprofits in acquiring the federal funds to support deployment of ASC technology.

To qualify for the grant, nonprofit agencies must:

  • Demonstrate that their nonprofit organization is at risk for a terrorist attack due to ideology, beliefs, or mission
  • Provide a written vulnerability/risk assessment that identifies security gaps within their organization, along with detailed information about the specific threats, the vulnerabilities that exist and the potential consequences if action is not taken.
